Christchurch Adventist School is an integrated K-13 area school that upholds the Christian faith, beliefs and values of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. We offer a wide range of educational opportunities in a warm family community that aims to educate the whole person. We hope you enjoy exploring this site and look forward to hearing from you.

Mission Statement

Christchurch Adventist School aims to provide a learning environment that enables individuals, through grace, to understand and achieve the potential of their being, becoming the transformed persons God intends them to be in a vibrant community of faith.

Ski Day

Ski Day will be on Thursday, August 5. Students are to be at school by 7am for 7.15am departure. Return time will be aproximately 5.30pm.

Term dates for 2010 are as follows

  • Term 1: Tuesday 2nd February to Thursday 1st April (Summer Uniform)

  • Term 2: Monday 19th April to Friday 2nd July (Winter Uniform)

  • Term 3: Monday 19th July to Friday 24th September (Winter Uniform)

  • Term 4: Monday 11th October to Tuesday 14 December (Summer Uniform)

    Christchurch Adventist School is now on Facebook! Do a simple search and you will find us as a 'group'. We hope this can be an open forum to share past class photos, experiences and as a tool to find old friends.

    Dates and Times

    The school day begins at 8:45 (with a reminder bell at 8:40), with form time and worship.
    School ends at 3:10pm.

    From Queen's Birthday Weekend, Fridays will be finishing early, at 2:45 - This is to give our students time to complete any final chores and work for the week, and be prepared for Sabbath.

    Remember that newsletters come out every two weeks, and are given to every student. If you have not seen one, talk to you son/daughter about this, you may find old newsletters fermenting in the bottom of their bag. Alternatively, contact the Principal, and he can e-mail them to you. They may also be downloaded from this page.

    • Avondale College, NSW Australia. This is our churches own tertiary institute, recognised for high quality undergraduate and postgraduate courses and degrees, with a Christian focus. This quality has been recognised for the past eight years with maximum 5-star ratings in the Good Universities' Guide for quality of teaching, excellent generic (employable) skills, graduate satisfaction with the educational experience, and graduate employment. The ratings in the Good Universities Guide are based on government surveys of Australian universities and other higher education institutions. Many of our former students have gone on to study at Avondale.

    • Longburn Adventist College (LAC), our Adventist boarding college in Palmerston North. Many former students (and teachers) of CAS have also spent some time at Longburn, out in the country.
      2008 was the Centenary year for LAC, Well done Guys.

    • World wide Seventh Day Adventist Site, for more information about our Church around the world. our beliefs,

    • Sanitarium Health Food Company, proud makers of Weet-Bix, and other breakfast and health foods, are owned by the Adventist Church, and sponsors many projects, from ADRA, to the Kiwi Kids Tryathalon. They have sponsored our school in many ways, including the Sanitarium Computer Excellence awards.

    • ADRA, The Adventist Development and Relief Agency was initiated by the Seventh-day Adventist church. The basis for its existence, its reason for being, is to follow Christ’s example by being a voice for, serving, and partnering with those in need.
      ADRA seeks to identify and address social injustice and deprivation in developing countries. The agency’s work seeks to improve the quality of life of those in need. ADRA invests in the potential of these individuals through community development initiatives targeting Food Security, Economic Development, Primary Health and Basic Education. ADRA’s emergency management initiatives provide aid to disaster survivors. Our school annually aids in collecting money from our local area, to support the valuable work of ADRA.
