10 students now know about the hidden beauty of the Kaikoura Coast. They went tramping up Sawcut Gorge last weekend, and discovered huge cliffs and chasms, lovely clear pools and one pleasant flat spot to camp in. There were laughs around the campfire, an extra walk Sabbath afternoon exploring the headwaters of the stream, and abundant stars at night, much brighter than usual. The weather was just right, the walkout and drive home were swift, and students navigated, crossed rivers and behaved very well.
